Wolf Pack Populations in the Northwestern United States:

Since the 1930s, wolf populations across the States became severely diminished due to mass hunts, misconceptions, and stereotypes - nearly wiping out most wolf species, and causing the extinction of many others. This map shows an animation of pack population of one of the species that survived, gray wolves, in the Northwestern United States. Because of heavy conservation efforts, this map shows their slow recovery in this area between 1999 and 2008.
